Our Oxford hotel’s Sir John Vanbrugh Suite…

Our Sir John Vanbrugh Suite is perfect for luxury weekends away in the City of Dreaming Spires.

This luxury suite offers a luxurious roll top bath to sink into after a long day, a revitalising rainfall shower and a seating area to enjoy a relaxing cup of tea.

At night, tuck into your delightful English handcrafted queen-size bed, complete with fine, premier cotton sheets and light fluffy pillows to help you have a comfortable night’s sleep.

Located on the ground floor, this exquisite suite was designed to honour the hotel’s namesake, Sir John Vanbrugh.

Sir John Vanbrugh was a phenomenal country house architect in the early 18th century. He was responsible for Blenheim Palace and Castle Howard, the two greatest commissions of the time.

A creative and ambitious designer, he characteristically worked in a boldly abstracted classical style influenced by European Baroque architecture. He designed our Oxford hotel and his influence can be seen throughout.

The Sir John Vanbrugh Suite offers the following little touches of luxury:
  • Continental breakfast delivered to your room
  • Tea making facilities with our favourite brand, Teapigs
  • Two 42 inch Smart TVs
  • Slippers and robes
  • Nespresso coffee machine
  • Powerful rainfall shower
  • The White Company toiletries
  • In-room safe
  • Iron & ironing board
  • Complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi
  • Umbrella (chargeable if taken)
  • Hairdryer
  • Dyson Pure Hot & Cool™ purifying fan heater
